۞ IT IS HE who has created you [all] out of one living entity, and out of it brought into being its mate, so that man might incline [with love] towards woman. And so, when he has embraced her, she conceives [what at first is] a light burden, and continues to bear it. Then, when she grows heavy [with child,] they both call unto God, their Sustainer, "If Thou indeed grant us a sound [child,] we shall most certainly be among the grateful!" 189 And yet, as soon as He has granted them sound [offspring,] they begin to ascribe to other powers beside Him a share in bringing about what He has granted them! Sublimely exalted, however, is God - above anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 190 What! they associate (with Him) that which does not create any thing, while they are themselves created! 191 They cannot help them, nor can they help themselves. 192 And if you call them to guidance, they follow you not. It is the same for you whether you call them or you keep silent. 193 Indeed, those you [polytheists] call upon besides Allah are servants like you. So call upon them and let them respond to you, if you should be truthful. 194 Have they feet with which they walk, or have they hands with which they hold, or have they eyes with which they see, or have they ears with which they hear? Say: Call your associates, then make a struggle (to prevail) against me and give me no respite. 195 Verily my protector is Allah who hath revealed the Book, and He protecteth the righteous. 196 And those on whom you call, apart from God, have no power to help you, neither they help themselves.' 197 If thou callest them to guidance, they hear not. Thou wilt see them looking at thee, but they see not. 198 Keep to forgiveness (O Muhammad), and enjoin kindness, and turn away from the ignorant. 199 And if a false imputation from the Shaitan afflict you, seek refuge in Allah; surely He is Hearing, Knowing. 200 Those who fear Allah, when a thought of evil from Satan assaults them, bring Allah to remembrance, when lo! they see (aright)! 201 Even though their (devilish) brothers would like them to continue in error, and would not desist. 202 When you do not bring them a verse, they say, 'Why have you not chosen one' Say: 'I follow only what is revealed to me from my Lord. This (Koran) is a veritable proof from your Lord, guidance and mercy for people who believe' 203 And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and remain silent, that mercy may be shown to you. 204 And remember your Lord within yourself humbly and fearing and in a voice not loud in the morning and the evening and be not of the heedless ones. 205 Surely those who are with thy Lord wax not too proud to serve Him; they chant His praise, and to Him they bow. ۩ 206
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
