The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created man, 3 He hath taught him utterance. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And earth -- He set it down for all beings, 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and has created the jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 16 (He is) the Lord of the two easts (places of sunrise during early summer and early winter) and the Lord of the two wests (places of sunset during early summer and early winter). 17 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There cometh forth from both of them the pearl and coral-stone. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 25
