The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 and he will return to his family joyfully. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Will pray for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
