Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By heaven and the night-star! 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created of spurting water 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
