Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 even till you visit the tombs. 2 You shall know. 3 Again, Nay! You shall come to know! 4 No indeed; did you know with the knowledge of certainty, 5 Surely ye shall behold the Scorch. 6 and you will see it with your own eyes. 7 Then on that day you will surely be asked about the verity of pleasures. 8

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
