In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 The Romans have been defeated 2 In the nearest land. But they, after their defeat, will overcome. 3 Within ten years - Allah's is the command in the former case and in the latter - and in that day believers will rejoice 4 He helps whomever He wants. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 5 (It is) the promise of Allah. Never does Allah depart from His promise: but most men understand not. 6 They know an outward part of this life, but of the Everlasting Life they are inattentive. 7 Have they never thought to themselves that Allah did not create the heavens and the earth and all that is between except with truth, and for a stated term? Yet most people disbelieve that they will ever meet their Lord. 8 Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those before them? They were superior to them in strength: they tilled the soil and populated it in greater numbers than these have done: there came to them their messengers with Clear (Signs). (Which they rejected, to their own destruction): It was not Allah Who wronged them, but they wronged their own souls. 9 Then the end of those that did evil was evil, for that they cried lies to the signs of God and mocked at them. 10

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
