The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to the diminishers, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 Whereas when they give others after measuring or weighing, they give them less! 3 What! Do they not expect that they will be raised? 4 On a Great Day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 A written record. 9 Woe, on that day, to those who have rejected God's revelations 10 who cry lies to the Day of Doom; 11 None denies it but the sinful transgressors. 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No. In fact what they have been doing has rusted their hearts. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!" 17 By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in 'Illiyun. 18 And what will make you know what the highest Iliyin is? 19 It is a written book, 20 Witnessed by those who are honoured. 21 The virtuous will surely be in bliss, 22 On adorned couches, observing. 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 and whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 The sinners indeed laughed at believers 29 and whenever they pass by them, they wink at one another [derisively]; 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent as guardians over them. 33 But on the Day [of Judgment,] they who had attained to faith will [be able to] laugh at the [erstwhile] deniers of the truth: 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
