Animals (Al-An 'aam)
165 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr) before The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
ALL PRAISE is due to God, who has created the heavens and the earth, and brought into being deep darkness as well as light: and yet, those who are bent on denying the truth regard other powers as their Sustainer's equals! 1 It is He Who has created you from clay, and then decreed a term for you; and it is a fixed promise before Him, yet you still doubt! 2 And He is Allah in the heavens and in the earth; He knows your secret (thoughts) and your open (words), and He knows what you earn. 3 Yet no sign of their Lord comes to them but they turn away from it. 4 and so they give the lie to this truth now that it has come unto them. In time, however, they will come to understand what it was that they were wont to deride. 5 Have they not seen how many generations We destroyed before them? We established them on the earth more firmly than you, and We sent the clouds over them, pouring down abundant rain; and made the rivers flow at their feet. Yet We destroyed them for their sins, and raised up other generations after them. 6 And had We sent down to you (O dear Prophet Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him) something written on paper so that they could feel it with their hands, even then the disbelievers would have said, “This is nothing but clear magic.” 7 And they say: "Why has not an angel been sent down to him?" Had We sent down an angel, the matter would have been judged at once, and no respite would be granted to them. 8 And had we appointed an angel as a Prophet, We would still have made him as a man and would keep them in the same doubt, as they are now in. 9 Messengers have been mocked before you, but those who scoffed were overtaken by the very thing they scoffed at. 10

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
