Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
HaMeem. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 We have made it an Arabic Koran in order that you understand. 3 And verily, [originating as it does] in the source, with Us, of all revelation, it is indeed sublime, full of wisdom. 4 What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? 5 How many a prophet did We send among the men of old! 6 But never did a prophet come at whom they did not scoff. 7 We therefore destroyed the people who were more forceful than these, and the example of the earlier ones has already gone by. 8 And indeed if you ask them, "Who has created the heavens and the earth?" They will surely say: "The All-Mighty, the All-Knower created them." 9 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and appointed ways for you therein, that haply you may be guided; 10 It is He who sends water down from the sky in due measure, We revive dead land with it and likewise you will be resurrected from the grave, 11 That has created pairs in all things, and has made for you ships and cattle on which ye ride, 12 In order that ye may sit firm and square on their backs, and when so seated, ye may celebrate the (kind) favour of your Lord, and say, "Glory to Him Who has subjected these to our (use), for we could never have accomplished this (by ourselves), 13 And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return! 14 Yet they have made some of His servants a part of Him. Indeed man is most evidently thankless. 15
