The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Many a heart will flutter on that day! 8 Their eyes humbled. 9 They say: 'What, are we being restored as we were before, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: that then shall be a losing return. 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 and behold! They will all come out in the open. 14 Has not there come to you the story of Musa? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 Do you want me to guide you to your Lord, so that you should fear Him?'" 19 Then Moses (went to Pharaoh and) showed him the Great Sign; 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 and gathered his people and declared: 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
