The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what can make you know what is the night comer? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely (Allah) is able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Comet (Al-Taareq). Sent down in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
