Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it enshrouds, 1 and the day in splendour 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 Indeed your efforts differ. 4 As for him who gives (in charity) and keeps his duty to Allah and fears Him, 5 And accepts the best, 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But as for him who is niggardly, and thinks that he is self-sufficient, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 For him We shall ease the way of adversity, 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Verify on us is the guidance 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 Now I have warned you of a Fire that flames, 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who denies and turns away. 16 He will be far away from the most pious. (The first Caliph S. Abu Bakr Siddiq) 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And who hath no favour from anyone to recompense. 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 and the reward (of their Lord) will certainly make them happy. 21
