Samood rejected the warning. 23 They said: 'Are we to follow a mortal who is one of us? Then indeed, we would surely be in error and insane. 24 Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! 25 (We told Our Messenger): “Tomorrow they shall know who is the insolent liar. 26 We are sending the she-camel to them to test them. So watch them and be patient. 27 Tell them that each one of them has the right to have a certain share of water". 28 Then they called their fellow, and he took the sword and hamstrung her, 29 Ah! how (terrible) was My Penalty and My Warning! 30 Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen. 31 And We have indeed made the Qur’an easy to memorise, so is there one who would remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warnings. 33 We sent a sandstorm against them which destroyed them all, except the family of Lot, whom We saved at the break of dawn, 34 As grace from Us. Thus We reward him who giveth thanks. 35 And indeed he had warned them of Our seizure – in response they doubted the warnings. 36 Even his guests they had solicited of him; so We obliterated their eyes, saying, 'Taste now My chastisement and My warnings!' 37 And certainly a lasting chastisement overtook them in the morning. 38 "Then taste you My Torment and My Warnings." 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40
