The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that pluck out vehemently 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 And those who race each other in a race 4 And those who govern the event, 5 Upon the day when the first blast shivers 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They say: Shall we indeed be restored to (our) first state? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 When his Lord called him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Moses showed him the great sign, 20 But he rejected (the truth) and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned away in a hurry, 22 then he mustered 23 Yet to a rich man, 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the hereafter and the former life. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
