The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 And what they earned did not avail them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Lo! Thy Lord! He is the All-Wise Creator. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 For all their deeds. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Truly! We will suffice you against the scoffers. 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Glorify and praise your Lord and be with those who prostrate themselves before God. 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
