I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 Why do you go for males unlike all other creatures 165 instead of your wives, whom your Lord has created specially for you? You are a transgressing people." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We delivered him and his people all together, 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 by pouring upon them a terrible shower of rain. How evil was the rain for those who had been warned! 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
