Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the dipersing winds that disperse. 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord giveth them; for lo! aforetime they were doers of good; 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 and also in yourselves. Can you not see? 21 And in heaven is [the source of] your sustenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]: 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
