Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
