The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth ever bursting with verdure, 12 Indeed the Qur’an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 They are devising guile, 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
