The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who range themselves in close ranks 1 And those who drive [the clouds] 2 Then those who recite, being mindful, 3 Lo! thy Lord is surely One; 4 Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all between them, and Lord of every point at the rising of the sun! 5 We have indeed decked the lower heaven with beauty (in) the stars,- 6 and guarded it against all rebellious devils: 7 (So) they should not strain their ears in the direction of the Exalted Assembly but be cast away from every side, 8 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 9 Except one who sometimes steals a part, so a blazing flame goes after him. 10 Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay. 11 You marvel (at the wondrous creations of Allah) and they scoff at it, 12 And when they are reminded, they mind not, 13 And whenever they see a sign, they mock at it. 14 and they say, 'This is nothing but manifest sorcery. 15 When we have become dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then verily be raised? 16 "And also our fathers of old?" 17 Say: 'Yes, and in all lowliness.' 18 So it shall only be a single cry, when lo! they shall see. 19 They will say: "Woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense!" 20 [They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny." 21
