Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Say: 'It has been revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, then they said, "We have indeed heard a Koran wonderful, 1 It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone. 2 ‘And that our Lord’s Majesty is Supreme – He has neither chosen a wife nor a child.’ 3 And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression. 4 'But we do think that no man or spirit should say aught that untrue against Allah. 5 And there were men from mankind who sought refuge in men from the jinn, so they [only] increased them in burden. 6 ‘And that they assumed, like you humans assume, that Allah would not send any Noble Messenger.’ 7 (The jinn continued saying): "We made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 and that “we do not know whether evil is intended for those on the earth, or whether their Lord intends to direct them to the Right Way”; 10 And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. 11 And we know that we cannot frustrate Allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate Him by flight. 12 And that when we heard the guidance, we believed in it; so whoever believes in his Lord, he should neither fear loss nor being overtaken (by disgrace): 13 Some of us are Muslims and some of us have deviated from the Truth. Whoever has embraced Islam has followed the right guidance. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 And [Allah revealed] that if they had remained straight on the way, We would have given them abundant provision 16 and tested them with it. And whosoever turns away from his Lord's Remembrance, He will hurl him into a stern punishment. 17 And the mosques are for Allah (Alone), so invoke not anyone along with Allah. 18 And that when the Servant of Allah stood up supplicating Him, they almost became about him a compacted mass." 19
