Believers, obey God and His Messengers and do not turn away from Him when you hear (His commands). 20 And be not like those who said, We hear, and they did not obey. 21 ۞ The worst of creatures in the eyes of God are those who are deaf and dumb and devoid of sense. 22 For, if God had seen any good in them, He would certainly have made them hear: but [as it is,] even if He had made them hear, they would surely have turned away in their obstinacy. 23 O believers, respond to the call of God and His Prophet when he calls you to what will give you life (and preservation). Remember that God intervenes between man and his heart, and that you will be gathered before Him. 24 And fear a trial which will not strike those who have wronged among you exclusively, and know that Allah is severe in penalty. 25 And remember when you were few and oppressed in the land, fearing that people might abduct you, but He sheltered you, supported you with His victory, and provided you with good things - that you might be grateful. 26 O People who Believe! Do not betray Allah and His Noble Messenger, nor purposely defraud your trusts. 27 And know that your wealth and your children are a test, and that with Allah is an immense reward. 28
