Did not the disbelievers observe that the heavens and the earth were together, so We parted them, and we made every living thing from water? So will they not accept faith? 30 And We have set on the earth mountains standing firm, lest it should shake with them, and We have made therein broad highways (between mountains) for them to pass through: that they may receive Guidance. 31 and We set up the heaven as a roof well-protected; yet still from Our signs they are turning away. 32 and [fail to see that] it is He who has created the night and the day and the sun and the moon - all of them floating through space! 33 We granted not to any man before thee permanent life (here): if then thou shouldst die, would they live permanently? 34 Every soul shall taste of death; and We try you with evil and good for a testing, then unto Us you shall be returned. 35 And when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah) see you (O Muhammad SAW), they take you not except for mockery (saying): "Is this the one who talks (badly) about your gods?" While they disbelieve at the mention of the Most Beneficent (Allah). [Tafsir. Al-Qurtubi]. 36 Man is hasty by nature. I shall certainly show you My Signs. Do not ask Me to be hasty. 37 They say: "(Tell us) when will the threat of punishment come to pass if you are truthful?" 38 If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not be able to drive off the fire from their faces and from their backs, and they will not be helped! 39 It will overtake them suddenly, dumbfounding them. They shall be unable to ward it off, and they shall not be respited. 40 Indeed (many) Messengers were mocked before you (O Muhammad SAW), but the scoffers were surrounded by that, whereat they used to mock. 41
