And the chiefs of his people, who disbelieved and denied the Meeting in the Hereafter, and to whom We had given the luxuries and comforts of this life, said: "He is no more than a human being like you, he eats of that which you eat, and drinks of what you drink. 33 If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, you will certainly be losers. 34 Promiseth he unto you that ye, when ye have died and have become dust and bones, ye are to be brought forth? 35 ۞ "Far, very far is that which you are promised. 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 He is only a man who has invented a lie about God, and we are not going to believe him!" 38 The Messenger prayed, "Lord, help me; they have called me a liar". 39 Answered (the Lord): "They shall wake up repenting soon." 40 The blast justly struck them and We reduced them to rubble. Away with such wicked people! 41 Then after them We brought forth other generations. 42 no nation outstrips its term, nor do they put it back. 43 Then We sent Our Messengers in succession. Whenever a Messenger came to his people they rejected him, calling him a liar. Thereupon, We made each people to follow the other (to its doom), reducing them to mere tales (of the past). Scourged be the people who do not believe! 44 AND THEN We sent forth Moses and his brother Aaron with Our messages and a manifest authority [from Us] 45 To Pharaoh and his nobles who behaved with arrogance, for they were a conceited lot, 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 Then they belied the twain; so they became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made the son of Marium and his mother a sign, and We gave them a shelter on a lofty ground having meadows and springs. 50
