Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Has the news of the overwhelming event reached you? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 Laboring, toiling, 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 Given water from the boiling spring to drink. 5 They shall have no food except bitter dry thorns 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 They will live in an exalted garden 10 wherein thou wilt hear no empty talk. 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 and raised couches, 13 and prepared goblets, 14 And cushions lined up 15 And rich carpets spread. 16 Do (these unbelievers) not observe the camels: how they were created? 17 And at the Sky, how it is raised high?- 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 And at the earth, how it is spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You do not have full control over them. 22 But he who turns his back, and disbelieves, 23 Allah will punish him with direst punishment. 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 and then it is for Us to call them to account. 26
