The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the night when it draws a veil, 1 And the day when it shines in brightness, 2 By Him Who hath created the male and the female, 3 surely your striving is to diverse ends. 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 for those who spend for the cause of God, 6 We shall surely ease him to the Path of Easing; 7 But he who is greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient. 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 his wealth shall not avail him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 I have warned you about the fierce blazing fire 14 Which only the most wretched must endure, 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 the Godfearing who spends his wealth to purify himself; 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 but only to seek the good pleasure of his Lord Most High. 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
God Almighty has spoken the truth.

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
