Relate the news of Abraham to them. 69 When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 'Can they benefit you or harm you' 73 They said: "Nay, but we found our fathers doing thus (what we do)." 74 He said: "Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, 75 You and your fathers? 76 "They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation." 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 and, whenever I am sick, heals me, 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 And Who, I ardently hope, will forgive me my sin on the Day of Judgment. 82 O Lord, give me wisdom and admit me among the righteous, 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Delight. 85 And forgive my father, verily he is of the erring; 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 except what is done in obedience to God with a submissive heart. 89 and Paradise shall be brought forward to the cautious. 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They shall say while they contend therein: 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 When we equalled you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 It was nothing but the evildoers who led us astray. 99 Now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor any sincere friend. 101 If only we could return we would be among the believers." 102 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not believers. 103 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 104

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
