Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Qaaf. By the Glorious Koran! 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 that after we die and become dust, we shall be brought back to life again. This seems far from reality". 3 We know all that the earth takes away of them, and a Book of Records is with Us. 4 Nay, but they [who refuse to believe in resurrection] have been wont to give the lie to this truth whenever it was proffered to them; and so they are in a state of confusion. 5 Have they not looked at the heaven above them - how We structured it and adorned it and [how] it has no rifts? 6 And the earth, We have made it plain and cast in it mountains and We have made to grow therein of all beautiful kinds, 7 As instruction and reminder to every penitent creature. 8 We have sent blessed water down from the sky to grow gardens, harvestable crops 9 And tall (and stately) palm-trees, with shoots of fruit-stalks, piled one over another;- 10 As provision for the servants, and We have given life thereby to a dead land. Thus is the resurrection. 11 The people of Noah, dwellers of the Ra's, Thamud, 12 and so did 'Ad, and Pharaoh and Lot's brethren, 13 and the dwellers of the Wood, and the people of Tubba': every one denied their messengers, and so My warning came true. 14 Did We fail in the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation. 15
