Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 the stars are dispersed, 2 And when the seas are flowed out, 3 And when the [contents of] graves are scattered, 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! what has beguiled you from your Lord, the Gracious one, 6 who created thee and shaped thee and wrought thee in symmetry 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 But verily, over you (are appointed angels in charge of mankind) to watch you. 10 noble scribes, 11 who know what you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And most surely the wicked are in burning fire, 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 And will not be removed from it. 16 And what will make you know what the Day of Recompense is? 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 (It will be) the Day when no person shall have power (to do) anything for another, and the Decision, that Day, will be (wholly) with Allah. 19
