۞ Allah it is Who has subjected the sea to you so that ships may sail upon it at His bidding and you may seek of His Bounty and give thanks to Him. 12 And He has subjected to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth - all from Him. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. 13 Say, [O Muhammad], to those who have believed that they [should] forgive those who expect not the days of Allah so that He may recompense a people for what they used to earn. 14 Whoever does a good deed - it is for himself; and whoever does evil - it is against the self. Then to your Lord you will be returned. 15 We gave the children of Israel the Book, and the judgement and the prophethood, provided them with good things, favoured them over other people, 16 And We gave them clear indications of the purpose [of faith]; and it was only after all this knowledge had been vouchsafed to them that they began, out of mutual jealousy, to hold divergent views: [but,] verily, thy Sustainer will judge between them on Resurrection Day regarding all whereon they were wont to differ. 17 And now, We have set you on the jurisprudence of the Command, therefore follow it and do not follow the desires of those who do not know. 18 Surely they will not avail thee aught against God. Surely the evildoers are friends one of the other; God is the friend of the godfearing. 19 These are clear proofs for people, a guidance, and mercy for those who are certain (of the Resurrection) in belief. 20 Do the evil-doers imagine that We shall make them equal to those who believe and do good, making their lives and deaths alike? How vile is their judgement! 21
