Seest thou one who turns back, 33 and gives a little, and then grudgingly? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 that He it is Who bestowed wealth and riches, 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this announcement? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 while you make merry? 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
