The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by another quaking. 7 Hearts on that day shall palpitate, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But only, it will be a single Zajrah [shout (i.e., the second blowing of the Trumpet)]. (See Verse 37:19). 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has Moses' story reached you? 15 When his Lord called to him in the holy valley, Towa: 16 That “Go to Firaun – he has rebelled.” 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 Then he went back hastily. 22 Then gathered he and summoned 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely there is a great lesson in it for whoever would fear (Allah). 26
