The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul which is not guarded (by the two angels who record all of its deeds). 4 Let the human reflect of what he is created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Indeed the Qur'an is a decisive Word. 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
