The Comet (Al-Taareq)

17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 emanating from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 On the day when hidden things shall be made manifest, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
