The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who pileth up wealth and layeth it by, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 And what will explain to thee That which Breaks to Pieces? 5 (It is) the Fire of (the Wrath of) Allah kindled (to a blaze), 6 The which doth mount (Right) to the Hearts: 7 It will engulf them. 8 in outstretched columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
