The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
99 verses, revealed in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ ALIF LAM RA. These are the verses of the Book and the perspicuous oration. 1 The disbelievers will ardently wish that if only they had been Muslims! (At the time of death / in their graves / on the Day of Resurrection.) 2 Let them eat and enjoy life, and let (false) hope beguile them. They will come to know! 3 And never did We destroy a township but there was a known decree for it. 4 No group may advance its appointed promise nor postpone it. 5 And they say: "O you (Muhammad SAW) to whom the Dhikr (the Quran) has been sent down! Verily, you are a mad man. 6 Why do you not bring to us the angels if you are of the truthful ones? 7 We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved. 8 It is We who have sent down the Reminder and We will, most surely, safeguard it. 9 And assuredly We have sent apostles before thee among the sects of the ancients. 10 And whenever a Messenger came to them, they never failed to mock him. 11 even so We cause it to enter into the hearts of the sinners -- 12 They do not believe in it, and indeed the example of the former people has already passed. 13 And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend, 14 They would surely say: "Our eyes have been (as if) dazzled. Nay, we are a people bewitched." 15

(5) وقف المجاذبة أو المعانقة حيث يجب الوقف في أي من موضعين قريبين ولكن ليس كلاهما، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة تظهر في أحد الموقعين باحتمال النصف للنصف.
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
