We did deliver aforetime the Children of Israel from humiliating Punishment, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And We vouchsafed unto them signs wherein was a manifest favour. 33 Even then they say: 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring us our fathers, if what you say is true' 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba' and those who came before them? We destroyed them, because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We created them in nothing else except the truth. But most do not know. 39 Verily, the Day of Judgement (when Allah will judge between the creatures) is the time appointed for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to another, nor shall any be helped, 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
