Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable! (Day of Judgment). 1 What is the Reality? 2 What makes you to know what the Resurrection Verifier is? 3 Thamud and 'Ad people denied the Qari'ah [the striking Hour (of Judgement)]! 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 He forced it upon them with strength, consecutively for seven nights and eight days – so you would see those people overthrown in it, like trunks of date palms fallen down. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 and rebelled against their Lord's Messenger. So He took them with a stern taking. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 In order to make it a remembrance for you, and in order that the ears that store may remember. 12 And when the trumpet is blown with a single blast, 13 And the earth and mountains heaved and crushed to powder with one levelling blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 The sky will cleave asunder on that day and fall to pieces. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 That Day, you will be exhibited [for judgement]; not hidden among you is anything concealed. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 Then he shall find himself in a life of bliss; 21 In a lofty Garden – 22 Whereof the clusters are in easy reach. 23 Eat and drink pleasantly for what you did beforehand in the days gone by. 24 Then as to him who shall be vouchsafed his book in his left hand, he shall say: Oh! would that I had not been vouchsafed my book. 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has not availed me. 28 "My power has perished from me!"... 29 (It will be said): Take him and fetter him 30 then throw them into hell to be heated up therein. 31 "Further, make him march in a chain, whereof the length is seventy cubits! 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 neither any food saving foul pus, 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
