The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 And by the Promised Day. 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is He Who creates from the very beginning, and He can restore (life). 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Hath there come unto thee the story of the hosts 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay; but this is a glorious Qur'an, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
