The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 He certainly has the power to bring him back to life. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 That this (Qur'an) is a decisive word 13 it is not a jest. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
