The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Createth man from a clot. 2 Recite, and your Lord is the most Generous - 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 Has taught man that which he knew not. 5 Despite this, the human being still tends to rebel 6 that he sees himself sufficed. 7 truly, all will return to your Lord. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 A slave (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) when he prays? 10 Have you considered if he were on the right way, 11 Or enjoined guarding (against evil)? 12 Have you considered if he gives the lie to the truth and turns (his) back? 13 Does he not know that Allah sees everything? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A lying, sinful forehead. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We shall call on the guards of Hell. 18 By no means! Obey not thou him. Continue to adore, and continue to draw nigh. ۩ 19
