A crowd of earlier generations 39 and a large group of those of later times. 40 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 And a shade of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor refreshing. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 But persisted in that greater sin, 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 We and our fathers of old? 48 Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, the former and the later peoples 49 will indeed be gathered together at a fixed time on an appointed Day. 50 Then shall you, O you who err and call it a lie! 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 "Then will ye fill your insides therewith, 53 And drink over it scalding water, 54 And drink as drinks the thirsty camel. 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 Then tell Me (about) the human semen that you emit. 58 did you create it or did We? 59 We! it is We Who have decreed death unto you all. And We are not to be outrun. 60 in replacing you with another creation like you, changing you into a form which you do not know. 61 You certainly knew about (your) first development. Why do you not take heed? 62 Tell Me! The seed that you sow in the ground. 63 Is it you who cause them to grow or do We? 64 If We will We can make it like dry trampled hay, so you would keep crying out. 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 nay; we have been undone!” 67 Have you thought about the water you drink? 68 Is it you who caused it to descend from the cloud, or is it We Who cause it to descend? 69 If We will We can make it bitter, so why do you not give thanks? 70 Consider the fire that you strike. 71 Was it ye who made the tree thereof to grow, or were We the grower? 72 It is We who have made it a means to remind [you of Us,] and a comfort for all who are lost and hungry in the wilderness [of their lives]. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com's English translation loads a random set of translators with equal probability, one translator for each verse. If you have difficulty understanding an interpretation, tap on the page number to reload it with a different set of translators. You may find it clearer, God willing.
