Surely We brought man into being out of dry ringing clay which was wrought from black mud, 26 And the jinn did We create aforetime of essential fire. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 God asked him, "What is the matter with you, that you are not among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 [Iblis] replied: "It is not for me to prostrate myself before mortal man whom Thou hast created out of sounding clay, out of dark slime transmuted!" 33 (Allah) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajim (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsir At-Tabari] 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Satan said, "O my Lord! Grant me respite till the Day of Resurrection." 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 God said, "This is the path which leads straight to Me. 41 Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators. 42 Gehenna (Hell) will be the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates and each gate is assigned for a certain group of people. 44
