۞ We said to Moses: "Travel by night with My creatures. You will surely be pursued." 52 Then Pharaoh sent heralds to the cities (to mobilise troops) 53 They announced “These people are a small group.” 54 and indeed they are enraging us; 55 "But we are host all assembled, amply forewarned." 56 So We made them leave their gardens and springs, 57 And from treasures and nice houses. 58 Thus we let the Israelites inherit them all. 59 Then they followed them at the sunrise; 60 and when the two groups saw each other, Moses' companions said, "We are sure to be overtaken." 61 He said: By no means; surely my Lord is with me: He will show me a way out. 62 Thereupon We inspired Moses thus: Strike the sea with thy staff!" - whereupon it parted, and each part appeared like a mountain vast. 63 And there We brought the others on, 64 And We saved Moosa and all those with him. 65 But We drowned the others. 66 Surely in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe: 67 And lo, thy Lord! He is indeed the Mighty, the Merciful. 68
