Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Reality (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)! 1 What is the concrete reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 So regarding the Thamud, they were destroyed by a terrible scream. 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you now see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 And disobeyed (each) the messenger of their Lord; so He punished them with an abundant Penalty. 10 Lo, when the waters rose, We bore you in the running ship 11 That We might make it a Message unto you, and that ears (that should hear the tale and) retain its memory should bear its (lessons) in remembrance. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound a single blast. 13 And the earth is moved, and its mountains, and they are crushed to powder at one stroke,- 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven shall be rent in sunder, it on that Day shall be frail. 16 and will turn frail, losing all force. The angels will be around the heavens and on that day eight of them will carry the Throne of your Lord above all the creatures. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 "I did really understand that my Account would (One Day) reach me!" 20 So he shall be in a life, well-pleasing. 21 in an exalted garden 22 with clusters of fruit within easy reach. 23 Eat and drink at ease for that which you have sent on before you in days past! 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 O would that it had made an end (of me): 27 My wealth has been of no use to me. 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 "And burn ye him in the Blazing Fire. 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 "This was he that would not believe in Allah Most High. 33 nor did he urge the feeding of the needy. 34 That is why he has no friend today, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
