Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Has not there come to you the news of the overwhelming calamity? 1 Faces on that day humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 Made to drink water from the boiling hot spring. 5 No food for them save bitter thorn-fruit 6 which will neither nourish nor satisfy hunger. 7 On that very Day some faces shall be radiant with joy, 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 In it is a flowing spring. 12 Therein are thrones raised high, 13 And goblets set at hand 14 And arranged carpets. 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven - how it has been raised? 18 how the mountains are set firm, 19 and how the earth is spread out? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 As for those who turn their back and disbelieve, 23 God will punish them with the greatest torment. 24 Surely to Us is their turning back, 25 and verily, It is for Us to call them to account. 26
