And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 When he said to his father and his people: What do you worship? 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 or do they cause you any benefit or harm?" 73 They said, 'Nay, but we found our fathers so doing.' 74 (Abraham) said, "Do you know that what you worship 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 Lo! they are (all) an enemy unto me, save the Lord of the Worlds, 77 Who created me, and He doth guide me, 78 “And the One Who feeds me and gives me to drink.” 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life. 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 Make me one of the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss 85 and forgive my father, for he is one of those astray. 86 Do not degrade me on the Day when they are resurrected. 87 The Day when neither wealth nor sons shall benefit 88 Save him who bringeth unto Allah a whole heart. 89 And the Garden shall be brought nigh to the God-fearing. 90 And the (Hell) Fire will be placed in full view of the erring. 91 It shall be said to them, 'Where is that you were serving 92 "'Besides Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?' 93 Then will they be hurled therein, they and the seducers 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By God, we were most obviously astray 97 When we made you equal to the Lord of the worlds; 98 It was but the guilty who misled us. 99 so now we have no intercessors, 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 "'Now if we only had a chance of return we shall truly be of those who believe!'" 102 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 103 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 104
