Elucidated (Fussilat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ha-Meem. (Alphabets of the Arabic language – Allah, and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 A revelation from Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. 2 A Book of which the verses are made plain, an Arabic Quran for a people who know: 3 Giving good news and admonition: yet most of them turn away, and so they hear not. 4 And they say, "Our hearts are within coverings from that to which you invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a partition, so work; indeed, we are working." 5 Say thou, [O Prophet:] "I am but a mortal like you. It has been revealed to me that your God is the One God: go, then, straight towards Him and seek His forgiveness!" And woe unto those who ascribe divinity to aught beside Him, 6 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life. 7 But those who believe and do the right, will have a continuing reward. 8
