The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 and hearkens to the command of its Lord, doing what it should. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 and by the moon, when it reaches its fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Wherefore announce thou unto them a torment afflictive. 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
