The folk of Lot denied the messengers (of Allah), 160 When their brother Lot said to them: "Will you not take heed? 161 “I am indeed a trustworthy Noble Messenger of Allah to you.” 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 “And I do not ask from you any fee for it; my reward is only upon the Lord Of The Creation.” 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said: I am in truth of those who hate your conduct. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 But the rest We destroyed utterly. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Verily in this was a sign, but most of them do not believe. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
