۞ When the son of Mary is mentioned as an example, your people turn away from it 57 And they say, “Are our deities better or he?” They did not say this to you except to unjustly argue; in fact they are a quarrelsome people. 58 Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel. 59 And if We willed, We could have established angels on the earth instead of you. 60 Verily he (i.e., Jesus) is a portent of the Hour. So be in no doubt concerning it and follow Me. This is the Straight Way. 61 Let not Satan bar you; he is for you a manifest foe. 62 And when Jesus came with the clear signs he said, 'I have come to you with wisdom, and that I may make clear to you some of that whereon you are at variance; so fear you God and obey you me. 63 Verily Allah! He is my lord and your Lord, so worship Him: this is the straight path. 64 Then the groups differed amongst themselves; therefore ruin is for the unjust by the punishment of an agonising day. 65 Are they awaiting anything other than the Last Hour that it should suddenly come upon them without their even perceiving it? 66 Friends will turn into enemies on that day, except those who fear and follow the straight path. 67
